Introduction: Entrepreneurship aspiration of people is increasing and many of them are finding renewable energy as one of the most promising options. General perception of people about green entrepreneurship does not go beyond ‘Solar Water Heaters’ and ‘Solar rooftop power’. However there lies immense potential for entrepreneurship in many other areas like ‘Solar Cooking for domestic and community applications’ (India has 12 lakh rural schools where mid-day-meal is served, and this is good enough to understand the scale of business potential that is untapped), biogas plants for domestic as well as community application, biogas through waste management applications, wood stoves, community cooking gasifiers, solar industrial heating applications, solar dryers and solar food processing applications etc.

Scale of business and basket of renewable energy products is the key for any sustainable enterprise. Many technologies have matured over time to shift from fabrication level to commercial production level. Hence it is right time to create network of manufacturers, dealers, marketing people etc. The workshop aims at demonstrating such potential technologies and create networking of people who are already in renewable energy business and who want to get in to this business.

Prof. Dr. Ajay Chandak has experience of conducting hardcore training programs in the area of solar cooking and other renewable energy technologies. Training programs conducted by SSVPS BSD College of Engineering and PRINCE in the past have shown very promising results.

Workshop Activities Workshop activities will cover:

  1. Demonstrations and presentations on technologies with ‘High entrepreneurship potential’ for small and medium scale businesses.
  2. Provide hands on experience for confidence building of prospective entrepreneurs.
  3. Exposure and discussion on different technologies where R & D and commercialization is needed.
Networking of manufacturers, dealers, marketing people in renewable energy area.
  4. Sharing case studies, success and failure stories.
  5. Discussing project possibilities in renewable power and waste to energy.
